Almudata — data engineering, business intelligence, machine learning and governance

We help with

Data engineering

Pipelines, warehouses and transformations that move your data reliably, at the scale you actually need.

Why one container?

Layer 01 · First plank

Objectives, goals & solution modelling

Before any code: which decision you need to make, which questions to answer and how we will know it worked.

Layer 02 · Second plank

Data infrastructure, architecture & engineering

Reliable pipelines, an ordered warehouse and versioned transformations, sized to you, not to a vendor.

Layer 03 · The nails

Data governance & observability

What keeps the almud firm: measured quality, visible lineage, clear access and alerts before anyone sees the error.

Layer 04 · The content

Your data, inside

With the container ready, your data falls into place: analytics, BI and ML that people understand.

Service comparison

Every engagement fills the same almud. Compare what each service puts in it, then pick the size you need.

Behind the name

What is an almud?

The almud is an old unit of capacity, now almost out of use. The word comes from Hispanic Arabic almúdd. It was used mostly to measure grain, and sometimes liquids, across Spain and the Spanish empire. Its size changed with the era and the region: in Chile an almud is 8.08 litres.

The standard measure was a box that carried the same name. The almud was also a measure of land: an almud de tierra is the area that can be sown with one almud of grain. It is still used in rural areas of Chile and Latin America.

That is the idea behind Almudata: one container, sized to what it has to hold. We measure your problem first, then build the container your data needs.
